This week has been a shit storm

I sit in front of my laptop on a Saturday night tired and sick as all hell. In fact, since my littlest has had pink eye the whole week and decided to share, so I’m also writing with one eye glued shut. šŸ˜¦

For the past couple weeks either me, my kids or my husband have been sick in some form or another. Sometimes I feel like we literally look like the Ā cast of the walking dead. haha.

To make matters worse, my husband’s ex job (yes he was let go this week), never gave him take a sick day, let alone a sick day to take care of a sick child. Luckily, my job allows me the freedom to work from home when needed, however that doesn’t make working from home with sickĀ kids any easier. I guess a good thing from him losing his job is I can actually work now (for the meantime). lol

Needless to say…I’ve had a shitastical week!

That leaves meĀ with two distinct choices. Wallow in self-pity, asking why I never get a break, OR go the other route and CHOOSE to be thankful for all the good in my life. Given this choice, I think I’m going to choose be thankful–even if it’s hard (and no I’m not winking as if I’m lying–still the pink eye–lol).

Positivity Challenge:Ā 

I’m not the only one who has a hard time being positive. My friends, family and coworkers do too, because frankly, life can really suck the big one sometimes, but at the end of the day, there are still positive moments, things to be grateful for.

With that being said, I’d like to share the Positivity Challenge with you. With what started as a simple way to help a friend, has grown into two, 3-person positivity groups. Each night for the past week we’ve been taking part in what I like to call the “Positivity Challenge.” Basically for 30 days, you write down three things you’re grateful for and text the group those things each night. Here is what makes it unique…each thing has to be different. You can’t repeat the same thing you’re grateful twice in the span of 30 days. By day 30, you’ll essentially have a list of 90 unique things to be grateful for!

Now how’s that for kicking life in the ass and taking names!? Try the #positivitychallenge with your friends and family! I’d love to hear how it has helped you. I definitely plan to check back in with you guys and tell you how my challenges went.

Last question…will you choose to be positive even if it is hard?
